I “should” be feeling bad about that. Instead? I’m proud of myself.

Why?

Because this week has been about planning, prepping, and dreaming up what this new version of the podcast is going to be. And it’s taken longer than I thought it would — not because I’m chasing perfect, but because I’ve been slowly going through guest pitches and really sitting with each person’s story, asking myself: how can this conversation help you feel seen and a little less alone on your journey?

That takes time. Good things do.

I also want to take a minute, when we’re back, to explain where I’ve been. Why I ghosted people. And why it’s okay — more than okay — to step back from things when life gets lifey. Because I gotta tell ya...life got lifey.

Here’s what I can share right now: I have an ahhhhmazing guest lined up for the very first guest episode. She’s been a big part of my journey over the last 5-6 years, and I cannot wait for you to hear this conversation.

One more thing before I let you go — you might have noticed this email looks a little different. That’s because everything has moved to Substack. Hey friends!

Softball is over. I am NOT doing a happy dance…of course I’m…..not.

No more lineup cards. No more finding shale in all the places shale should not be. No more sunflower seeds falling out of pockets in the washing machine.

So you know what that means, right? I have time again.

Me + Time = thinking about the things I’m doing, whether I want to keep doing them, and what would make me happier.

The results of this equation became obvious pretty quickly.

OVARA is done.

The honest reason: it got too hard. To get to me, you had to go over there — another app, a method, pillars, a quiz. That’s a big ask. It was a big ask for you and it turns out it was a big ask for me too.

I wanted it easy again. The way it was when I started, which was: I had something to say, so I said it.

Which meant the website got redone. Again. I know. Eye roll. It’s over here if you want to look.

So I listened to my peeps (soul squad), and kept getting nudged the same direction: the podcast, the writing, have fun with it again.

Then I watched what my writing coach Emily was doing over on Substack — all the things I love to do, and it looked…easy.

If you’re wondering what the heck is Substack — fair. It’s the easy button I’ve been looking for. My podcast lives there, this newsletter comes from there, and it all shows up in your inbox — you’re already subscribed, you don’t have to do a thing.

There is an app, and it’s actually great — but not because of me. Because you get me plus a whole pile of other really good writers and podcasters in one spot. Completely optional.

This is the part I’m REALLY excited about. There’s also a place to chat and I’ve called it The Living Room. It’s free. It’s where we can talk about episodes, the writing of book #2, all of it. Come hang out with me there.

Here’s the thing I haven’t said yet: I’ve missed this. The mic, the conversations, that feeling of hanging up after recording and thinking that mattered. I told myself I was too busy (which I’ll admit, I really was). But the truth is, I was a little scared to start again too.

So I’m done stalling. New episode. Next week. I can’t wait to be behind that mic with you again.
